MoU with Kaivalyadham for yoga classes across all units of Maharashtra Police.
In October, 2016, we signed MoU with Kaivalydham to appoint well qualified yoga in 74 Units of Maharashtra Police under the funding scheme of the Ministry of Ayush for police departments. Currently, the scheme has started in all the 74 units with good response on the number of police personnel taking the classes. This initiative will surely have an impact on health and stress tackling abilities of Maharashtra Police personnel, over the longer term.
Medical check up of all Maharashtra Police Personnel over 45 years of age.
Maharashtra Police has tied up with the Public Sector Undertaking, BPCL, to fund the medical check up of all our police personnel over 45 years of age (around 70000 personnel), in order to detect early the preventable and treatable diseases like hypertension, diabetes, anaemia and liver and heart disorder. The first such medical camp was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, on 2nd December, 2016 at Nagpur. The Hon'ble CM has appreciated this initiative and announced that the Govt. of Maharashtra will undertake this activity from the next year onwards. These camps are being held at 34 district HQ in Maharashtra till March, 2017. A medical profile of all older police personnel will be available thereafter for appropriate duty deployment by the Unit Commanders.
